The incidence and severity of nearsightedness (Myopia) is increasing.  Myopia develops during school age and advances until early adult years.  Historically, the only option was using glasses (or contact lenses) to correct the resulting blurry distance vision.  We now know that early intervention and treatment can slow myopic progression.
